Annual End-of-year Awards Exhibitions
All full-time BFA, BHA and BSA Art students in good academic standing may participate in the annual end-of-year School of Art Awards Exhibition, usually held immediately after the last day of classes in the spring semester. Students on probation and part-time students are not eligible. Receiving an end-of-year School of Art award qualifies a student for College Honors at graduation.
Faculty will evaluate exhibitions using the following criteria: conceptual depth, technical expertise and development, evidence of creative growth, engagement with the culture from which it emerges, sense of exploration, demonstrated commitment. Exhibits can be placed in the CFA 4th Floor Loge, 3rd floor Hallways and North and South Foyers.
Students may exhibit up to five recent works. On the specified exhibit day for their class, students install their exhibit by 9:00 am and remove it by 5:00 pm. They will submit tapes, disks, and/or CDs to the Art Office for jury viewing. Complete information about the exhibit rules and regulations will be available in April.
Awards are announced at the end-of-year School of Art celebration, which in past years has been a picnic in Schenley Park. The School of Art Spring Awards may only be used towards a students tuition and fees. Any amount awarded to a student will be applied to their student account. If this transfer to the students account results in a credit balance, he/she may request a refund.
